An unpretentious and simple pendant Doo-Wop is noted for its medium size and light emission, which allows wider application area of the lamp. The design of the lamp mimics its predecessor, which was also designed by Louis Poulsen, in collaboration with the Navy Buildings Department and was widely used across Royal Danish Navy premises.
The company has launched an updated version of the light which is in sync with the current décor scenario. The lamp boasts of contemporary colours to match with the décor. The light can be used as a stand-alone unit as well as in rows or clusters.
Doo-Wop is manufactured using the technique used in 1950s to make lights. The shades are molded by hand and then bent up slightly at the edge, which renders it a special optical volume. The brass version of the lamp is noted for its craftsmanship. The brass lamps are made from a solid sheet of brass and bear a high-gloss finish.
Doo-Wop includes two reflectors – an inner cone-shaped one, which provides anti-dazzle downlighting – and an outer one, which provides soft up, downlighting. The outer shade creates stylish, atmospheric illumination around the pendant.
Louis Poulsen is offering Doo-Wop in a variety of colours, which includes red/orange, pale blue, green, white, black/grey and an exclusive brass version. All the models have an E27 socket. Doo-Wop can be ideally used in lounge, dining room, kitchen, home-office, nursery, hall, staircase and bedrooms. The lamp’s design supports usage of different light sources.
