Named after the Greek word ‘oxymoron’ meaning “union of contradictory terms,” the new Oxymore chair wears a marble cube look and offers a soft and comfortable seating experience. It is made by group seating specialists Figueras International Seating.

Made of die-cast aluminium, the chair’s seat and back incorporate viscoelastic foam. The Oxymore chair is created by moulding the material to retain the shape when occupied. The rigid parts of the seat and back-rest are designed to provide support to the body. The back-rest reclines with a leaning against it, which provides a comfortable seating experience.

Lightweight and stackable, the Oxymore chair can be used in group- and multi-purpose spaces and can be easily stored. Available in five bold colours, like matt black, orange, pure red, green and medium navy blue, the Oxymore chair is 100% recyclable as it is made from monomaterials.

Launched in 2011 by the organisers of Maison & Objet, the Paris Design Week 2012 is being held from 10-16 September.
