The project involves development of a new retail core in the Center Core of the airside Terminal of the PIT. The development is likely to encourage the top brands of the country to open stores at PIT.
The new stores will be built at the site, which is currently occupied by the Flight Information Display Screens (FIDS). The scheme will change the face of the airside terminal, by means of creating retail units front and centre, when passengers come up the escalator and arrive at the airside terminal.
The project will add seven retail units and is likely to wrap-up by the end of 2013. The scheme coincides with the 20th anniversary of the airport. The PIT concession development plans have received the approval of Allegheny County Airport Authority board.
