The new hospital will be a 120,000 square feet facility, which is poised to serve as the new landmark for Ripon. The facility will have a single entrance, which will open onto an integrated medical centre. The first floor will house outpatient services, including provider offices, medical imaging, laboratory and emergency services.

The facility will have two separate entrances, which will be available for arrival and departure of surgical patients and their families at Parkside Street and Douglas Street side, respectively. The first level will also accommodate a meditation/reflection room.

The space on the Douglas Street side on the second floor will accommodate all inpatient services, such as Women & Infants Unit comprising two labour/delivery/recovery and postpartum ; four Intensive Care Unit rooms, of which two can be acuity adapted; and inpatient care rooms. The level will also feature a medical pharmacy.

Construction on the facility will be undertaken by US-based CD Smith Construction and is slated for completion by mid-2014.
