The company has replaced 130 CFL downlights and linear fluorescents with more than 150 Cree CR22 architectural LED troffers at the building. The change of lighting took place within the American Grill, Sundry Shop and main hallway of the Hart Building.
The switch from normal lighting to LED lighting will render an energy efficiency of almost 33%. The Cree CR22 have a lifespan of more than 50,000 hours. The Cree CR22 linear luminaires, in comparison with fluorescent lighting, also offers the benefits of lower maintenance and operational costs and higher-quality light.
The Hart Building is a nine storey building, and has a contemporary design. The building was designed as a flexible, energy-efficient building that would accommodate Congressional business and the new technology of the modern Senate.
