Macdonald Stadium underwent a $2 million renovation, which was funded through a capital improvement bond. The improvements include a new artificial turf field, a regulation size track and a new state-of-the-art scoreboard.

The stadium, which is the longtime home of Malden High football, needed an urgent upgrade. The new regulation-size track and an artificial turf field will allow teams to use the Pearl Street facility during wet conditions. Turf traditionally drains faster than grass and is simpler to maintain.

Malden will host Bedford at the Macdonald Stadium on 28 September.
