Located at 50 Great Sutton Street, in the heart of Clerkenwell’s design district, the new specification home facility encompasses an area of 700 square metres that has been designed in collaboration with UK-based I-AM Associates. Noted for its unique layout, which allows the customers to explore new ideas and technical specifications for all types of residential and commercial projects; the new store showcases many new and exclusive tile collections.

The design of the new store is centred on a new ‘Back-to-Front’ concept. The designer has used raw industrial, down-to-earth materials and surfaces such as concrete and timber pallets and crates to create floor finish, displays, reception bar and furniture.

Certain portions of the store have been left bare, which reveals exposed concrete surfaces. This rawness of the design serves two-fold purpose. Firstly, it creates a striking design concept; secondly it provides contrast for the precision-cut tiles on display.

The retail unit has been adorned with work by local contemporary artists, such as Wayne Chisnell and Jessica Walters. The artworks humanise the interiors. The ground floor of the facility has been divided into zones, which consist of a welcome area featuring a café style bar. The Just-In area of the store showcases the products by most prominent international manufacturers alongside their latest designs and technological innovations.

The facility also includes a sample library containing porcelain, ceramic, glass, mosaic, and stone samples, which are showcased on accessible displays. The product areas include designers’ favourites, while the carefully curated gallery area features new collections.

The upper floor serves as an informal welcome area for the visitors, private meeting rooms, the CPD presentation room and several product areas. The other spaces at the new facility consist of Domus Technical lab and CPD presentation room, which are accessible by means of steel and glass staircase.

The new retail unit contains all the technical products, precision models, cut-aways, floor substrates, adhesives and special fittings detailing. The facility offers knowledge about different layers of tile, and shows how these create complete flooring solutions, swimming pool tanks, raised access floors, lightweight floors and walls.
