Binghamton-based McFarland Johnson has designed the $273,523 project and is getting ready to accept bids for a contractor to perform the installation.
Being a part of a $2.2 million eight-airport safety improvement initiative, the airport received $259,849 from the state DOT to install a Precision Approach Path Indicator. This has been reported by Joe Dee, a spokesman for the state Department of Transportation.
Federal Aviation Administration gave $212,525 in federal funding for Somerset Airport on 25 September. This has been given to update the airport layout plan, which is also a part of FAA’s plan to digitize its nationwide airport computer database.
