The project has redeveloped the shopping centre into a 65,000 square metre of shopping venue, built over two levels. The redevelopment of the shopping centre began in 2007 and was completed in four stages, and entailed an outlay of AUD400 million ($408.88 million).
The shopping centre has three supermarkets, three discount department stores and 200 speciality stores; a 750-seat food court; and a parking garage for more than 3,000 cars. The building features three public art installations by western Sydney artists.
Inside, each public space has its own architectural theme and ambience. The redevelopment of the scheme was based on building information modelling (BIM) system REVIT. The focus of the redevelopment was to create a contemporary shopping centre, which will feature clean crisp lines.
The newly renovated facility features extensive glass element, which brings in natural light into the inner space. The roof of the building has angular roof hanging, which creates an intriguing mix of light and shade.
