Designed by KTGY Group Inc., ARTIC is a multimodal transportation facility, which will establish connection between several places in Southern Californian region, Anaheim and Orange County. Upon completion, the ARTIC is likely to serve as a gateway that would allow people to use the transportation link to reach their destination and will aid in relieving traffic congestions on the roads.
The ARTIC scheme will accommodate 10 modes of transportation such as High-Speed Rail, California/Nevada maglev trains, Metrolink and Amtrak trains, OCTA local bus service, Ontario International Airport remote check-in FlyAway bus service, Anaheim Resort Shuttles, Anaheim Rapid Connection (ARC) Resort Streetcar System and taxi service.
The ARTIC transit station will serve as a mixed-use development, which will feature retail, dining, entertainment, office, hospitality and residential spaces. The project will be undertaken in multiple phases, and will span for a period of 20 years.
The project aims at creating a synergy between ARTIC’s Mixed-Use District, the existing major entertainment/sports venues in the immediate vicinity of The Platinum Triangle; and the greater Anaheim community including the Disney Resort and Convention Center District.
The scheme has been and has been involved in the project since 2007. KTGYhas offered the Urban Design Advisory services for the project. The company has prepared the master plan, developed the Mixed-Use District Conceptual Development Guidelines and provided architectural design review services for the project.
The main terminal building of ARTIC will be 56,000 square feet, which will have a maximum height of 120 feet. Construction on the scheme is being undertaken by Clark Construction Group, with the project being aspired for LEED Platinum certification. The developers have also engaged Mikyoung Kim Design for the public art component of the project.
