The two new facilities will be built adjacent to each other, near the Student Recreation Center and the recreation fields on the Evansdale Campus.
The new CPASS facility will be spread over 73,000 gross square feet. The three floors of the building will be dedicated to the college. CPASS will accommodate three large general purpose classrooms for 50 or more students; five other classrooms; athletic training room and lab, fitness room and computer lab.
The Student Health and Wellness center will be a three-storey building, which will have a total area of 50,800 square feet. The new wellness centre will house WELLWVU offices, Acute Medicine, Student Health and the Carruth Center for Psychological and Psychiatric Services. The building will have 23 exam rooms, a pharmacy and a capacity waiting area that can accommodate 40 or more.
The project will entail an outlay of $39.8 million and form an integral part of a multi-year, $250 million building plan of remaking the Evansdale campus.
