To be developed as a 90,755 square feet facility, the health and fitness centre will be a mixed-use, two-storied facility. Divided into two parts, the facility will feature non-active program spaces, which will form the main floor base of the building with active spaces on the top.
Inspired from the geometry of the running track, the new glass pavilion will feature a 200 metre running track, large double gymnasium, weight and cardio training space, group fitness studios and a fitness/therapy pool area.
Complementing the active program, the educational and clinical space will provide a range of wellness services. The roof of the main floor base will be developed for outdoor fitness activities with direct access from the second floor running track.
The building is targeting to achieve LEED Silver certification. It will support the adjacent Concordia Hip and Knee Institute and its’ joint replacement program.
