Replacing the Trust’s existing facilities on the Fylde Coast, the new £45 million ($66.45 million) project involves the development of a 154-bed facility, which will include a psychiatric intensive care unit.
Designed by UK-based Gilling Dod Architects, the new unit will feature private bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms, garden areas and a range of facilities required to support a person’s recovery and the maintenance of their everyday living skills.
The project is being developed through the NHS Procure 21+ framework. Construction on the project is scheduled to begin in April 2013 with completion by the end of 2014. The new health facility is scheduled for opening in the first quarter of 2015.
