The proposed Bishop’s Court commercial scheme will be developed in the Spitalfields regeneration area of London. The scope of work involves demolition of the existing seven-storied building and the construction of a new, mixed retail-cum-office building.

The new development will retain the existing basement. The tops of the retained walls will be trimmed down and a new capping beam on the top will be casted. The superstructure will consist of flat floor slabs at ground with post-tensioned RC floors above from levels one to six.

The level six will be a steel frame construction that will sit on a post tensioned RC floor slab. The levels five and six will feature fully glazed cladding and terraces overlooking Bishops Square and Spitalfields.

The office area will be developed to the standards of Category A office space. It will feature reception, toilets and upper floor circulation areas, all of which will be fully finished and fitted to a Cat A standard. The building will be developed in a way to achieve BREEAM excellent rating.

Construction work on the project began in February 2013 and is anticipated to be completed by the autumn of 2014.
