Foscarini’s Milan store would be located in the Brera district, in a typical building, which affords a special appeal and timeless charm. Various site-specific installations will be exhibited in sequence on a regular basis in the store, which will tell the values of Foscarini, interpreted each time by artists and designers.
The store will open on 9 April 2013 with the presentation of an installation “Seed” by architect and artist Attilio Stocchi. It will interpret the birth of this new venture and space for the company through a metaphor on blooming flowers and seeds.
The same concept would be adopted at Foscarini’s New York store too. It would be located at Greene Street, and is set to be inaugurated in May, on the occasion of the next ICFF.
Both stores are designed by Ferruccio Laviani and feature a special modular system that will showcase Foscarini’s lamps in different vignettes. The stores are designed to offer not only a great shopping experience, but also as places intended to liaise with the city, to become a point of reference for both design enthusiasts as well as a broader and more multifarious public.
