The CMYK bulb has been created by combining a white main light source with coloured LEDs in red, green and blue to cast shadows in cyan, magenta and yellow. The CMYK bulb is priced at € 95 ($124.73) per unit.
The prototype of the CMYK bulb was showcased at Spazio Rossana Orlandi 2013 in Milan together with a shade, which complements the bulb.
The faceted Diamond shade, derived from a previous project, the RGB Galaxy, is made of matt white polypropylene covered in tiny pin-pricks to scatter coloured dots of light onto surrounding surfaces. The Diamond and CMYK bulb together price at € 160 (210.07).
The CMYK bulb design is a commercial development of the one-off CMYK lamps that Parren developed as part of his graduation project at Design Academy Eindhoven in 2011.
