The first concept – The Pancake House – to be designed by designLSM will be located next to the lake with a small beach and boathouse. The interior will include its characteristic primary colour scheme, and banquette seating with the addition of chalk boards around the open kitchen to add warmth and interest.
The second scheme is Dining In – a relatively new takeaway concept which will feature a slick new timber bar and counter seating. The final concept is Rajinda Pradesh, a contemporary Indian restaurant which will feature natural earthy tones, large display jars filled with spices, a raw silk bar front and embossed tin ceiling tiles. Soft lighting will be incorporated inside with the use of tea lights to provide a grown up, intimate dining area.
Woburn is set in a 365 acre forest which has three distinct hills. Woburn Forest scheme will comprise of 625 lodges, a 75-room luxury hotel, and 21 food, beverage and retail outlets. Design of the accommodation has been inspired from the design of the lodges at existing villages. The village has two main areas; the Village Square and The Plaza. The Village Square will consist of the Subtropical Swimming Paradise, bowling, Guest Services, Medical Centre, shops and restaurants while The Plaza will consist of sports facilities, children’s club, The Venue, exercise and fitness studios, pottery painting studio, hotel, spa, shops and restaurants. There will also be a wide range of outdoor facilities offering outdoor activities.
Woburn Forest will also be the first Center Parcs in the UK to have an Energy Centre and district heating system which can heat the main areas and the 625 lodges. The Woburn Forest project will be the largest commercial leisure project in the UK and will open in spring 2014.
Center Parcs opened in the UK in 1987. Each lodge interior under the project was designed for families with lots of open-plan living and the kitchen as the heart of the lounge area.
