The renovation project at the 2,000-seat Arena Grand Movie Theatre is aimed at making the seating areas wider to offer more legroom to people.
The renovation project will include construction of a new first-floor commercial kitchen and expansion of the second-level foodservice space into a larger bar and restaurant. It will also replace 800 seats of the theatre with tables and bigger chairs, converting it into a dine-in theatre model. The number of screens will be the same and would not be touched. The theatre has a total of 11 screens.
The Arena Grand renovation is expected to complete by late August or early September 2013. Studio Movie Grill operates a total of 13 theatres across Arizona, Georgia, Illinois, North Carolina, and Texas with the Columbus theatre being the first in Ohio.
