Claimed as an evolution of traditional square carpet tiles, Planks are narrow rectangular tiles that can be used on their own or with Interface’s flagship square carpet tiles and can be installed in a range of classic patterns. Various combinations of formats, textures, colours and patterns make the range limitless.
Urban Retreat 501 is the first collection to be launched in the Planks range. Based on one of Interface’s latest carpet tile collections, Urban Retreat 501 is inspired by a science known as ‘Biophilia’ which deals with people’s love of nature. Reflecting the core elements of Biophilic design, colour palettes within the Urban Retreat collection are evocative of heritage stones, forests, and savannah grasses. The tiles will be available as skinny Planks, measuring 25 x 100 cm. They are also suitable for herringbone and ashlar installation and available in colours that will complement square Urban Retreat tiles, as well as vibrant accent colours.
Planks incorporate a high percentage of recycled content with Urban Retreat 501 made using 100% recycled nylon. Planks can be easily installed using Interface’s glue-free and flexible TacTiles system, to minimise odour and emissions, and can also be used in conjunction with Interlay, for enhanced acoustic properties and comfort. All tiles can be recycled through Interface’s ReEntry take-back scheme, to help reduce the amount of carpet sent to landfill.
