Under the creative direction of cofounders Steve Charles and David Abrams, Decorum Est worked closely with interior designer Anita Rosato who oversaw the complete renovation project.
The hotel’s public areas were updated with contemporary technology using antique techniques to provide an opulent and luxurious feel.
Decorum Est used Decorum Beige marble for the lobby floor and lift, which is a famous marble also used in the construction of Epidaurus’ Theatre, one of the biggest ancient theatres in Greece.
The reception desks in the lobby were finished with Maroon Emperor, an elegant Spanish marble with chocolate brown colouring and cream veining.
For the external floor of the hotel’s forecourt, Decorum Est employed Belgium Blue stone, a material also used in some of Europe’s most beautiful churches, cathedrals and monuments.
Steve Charles said; “We wanted to decorate the hotel lobby to provide the level of excellence that guests have come to expect from staying at The Park Tower Knightsbridge.”
“We have used specialist finishes, including Black Gold Leaf for the coffer ceiling and Silver Birch panels around the lift, to create an opulent public area underpinned by an exceptional level of craftsmanship which is very much at the core of what we do,” he further added.
Park Tower Knightsbridge recently re-opened following an extensive refurb of its lobby, lounge and bar areas in a project over £1m.
All of its 280 guest rooms and suites feature handcrafted pieces and marble bathrooms, and offers views over Knightsbridge or neighbouring Hyde Park, thanks to the hotel’s iconic circular shape.
The suites also offer panoramic views over London’s skyline as well as services of The Park Tower Butler.
