Blueprint

A palette of materials, whether bronze or stone, allowed for a degree of variation in finish, but through working in print, Hepworth was liberated in her use of colour, bringing a vibrancy and energy inexpressible in her sculptural works.

The Hepworth’s comprehensive collection show her explorations of colour, form and mark-making through which are visible many of the forms existing in her sculpted work – often presented in the gallery alongside its two dimensional counterpart. The print collection will be shown in rotation, with the gallery showing approximately twenty works at any one time. Closing in April 2014, the exhibit offers a beautiful and kaleidscopic insight into the process of resolving two-dimensional expression with three-dimensional form.
