The awards, which are open to completed buildings, landscape projects and future projects, will be presented at the seventh annual World Architecture Festival, which takes place between 1 and 3 October at the Marina Bay Sands resort in Singapore.
There are 28 individual awards categories and previous winners have ranged from global architectural firms to small local practices. Last year’s overall winner of the title World Building of the Year was Auckland Art Gallery in New Zealand by Francis-Jones Morehen Thorp + Archimedia – Architects in Association.
The winning projects in each category – and the eventual overall winner – will be chosen by a panel of judges made up of leading designers and architects and this year chaired by British Architect Richard Rogers.
The other judges are Rocco Yim, Julie Eizenberg, Enric Ruiz Geli and Peter Rich.
All of architecture practices short-listed for the awards will be invited to attend the festival.
The closing date for entries is 30 May 2014.
