The Hepatitis C Trust’s Art on a Postcard Secret Auction opened this week for its third year at the Maddox Gallery in Mayfair.
In recent years, international acclaimed artists have donated their works to the trust including Damien Hirst, Grayson Perry, Maggie Hambling, Oliver Jeffers and Peter Blake who are among the 400 plus postcard artworks up for auction today.
The charity is founded and run by people with personal experience of the effects of hepatitis C, and are determined to raise awareness of the condition. Proceeds will go to the Hepatitis C Trust in their campaign to eliminate the virus by 2030 through research and support.
So far they have raised over £200k but are calling out to any budding art collectors to come by and take part on 17 November. If you can’t make it to the Maddox Gallery you can access the live auction and bid online so you don't miss out on this amazing cause.
Artist, Grayson Perry said: ‘I’m delighted to be part of this year’s The Hepatitis C Trust’s Art on a Postcard Secret Auction. While the secret auction democratises art, funds raised will help The Trust in its work towards ridding the county of hepatitis C, a killer disease which disproportionally affects an underprivileged community.’
