Natural cracks worth preserving
With HeartOak planks we utilise as much as possible of the large oak trees and give the heartwood new life, hence the name. Over the years, natural cracks have set in the heartwood of the oak. These natural cracks tell the story of what the tree has lived through and endured. That is worth preserving. Hence, we carefully repair the planks by hand, locking the cracks with butterfly joints in oak. The result is beautiful, unspoilt planks with a powerful expression.
