Grubb, who was named lighting designer of the year in 2012 at the Lighting Design Awards, says his new Bournemouth-based studio will offer a range of consultancy, strategy, design and creative services covering all aspects of architectural lighting design’.
In his role at Sutton Vane Associates Grubb was responsible for the lighting strategy for the London 2012 Olympic Park and high profile projects such as the exhibition First Emperor: China’s Terracotta Army at the British Museum, and the lighting of Wexford Opera House.
Grubb said: ‘Michael Grubb Studio will allow me to take lighting design in a new direction defined by engagement by the client, the place and the brand.’
