The walls and floors of the Staffordshire Wildlife Trust’s new headquarters have made extensive use of tiles from H&R Johnson Tiles, taking design inspiration from nature and creating both an attractive and functional finish for visitors and staff.

Named the Wolseley Centre, the new facility stands on the banks of the River Trent at Wolseley near Rugeley and comprises a visitor centre, an education and training centre and a conference venue all across one site. It is located in area of 26 acres and was redeveloped by Derbyshire architects, Faulks, Perry, Culley and Rech, incorporating existing barns and stables into the construction.

For the floors of the reception, visitor centre, loggia and toilets, H&R Johnson’s Himalayas tiles were installed in various shades, including Tibet, Nepal and Kashmir. These glazed porcelain floor tiles capture the look and strength of natural stone, with subtle changes in appearance and colour replicating limestone, sandstone and slate. The overall appearance is one of peaceful nature, the ideal image for the new wildlife centre.
