With designers from Australia, Denmark, the European Union, Italy, Japan, Korea, Switzerland, and the UK contributing, the trails will lead Singaporeans to various design landmarks in areas such as Orchard, Tanjong Pagar, and Chinatown. DesignSingapore Council was reported stating that the festival aims to inspire everyone to consider and examine scenarios of how life can be different in the future, by design.

Besides allowing visitors to explore design, the festival also encourages the public to come up with their own design trails, which can be shared on a designated webpage from one week prior to the festival.

The festival will also see an exhibition by Absolut Vodka, as part of its ‘In an Absolute World’ campaign, where designers will create installations of their ideal world scenarios. The new exhibitions will showcase examples of sustainable architecture or ‘tomorrow’s kitchens.’ The festival will also host displays by INDEX and Good Design Award winners.
