Leading door manufacturer and supplier Kaba Door Systems, has completed an automatic door installation for WHSmith at Paddington Railway Station, London.

Working with Vincent Shopfitters, Kaba installed an SLX/PSX automatic bi-parting sliding door to the shop entrance which is situated on the main concourse ensuring contract free access for commuters.

The SLX drive system is a compact all-in-one unit with the door gear motors, scanners and controls contained within its slimline drive case. Discreetly positioned at the top of a door, the SLX is ideal for design-led installations especially when combined with Kaba’s slimline PSX aluminium profile and is suitable for use with conventional and telescopic door wings of all sizes and weights.

All the unit’s drive elements and electronics use Bluetooth technology, enabling the doors to be operated remotely from up to 10metres away with devices such as mobile phones, PDAs and Kaba’s new keyring sized F-Key. A number of different doors can be activated using one device to offer easy access without the need for separate controls. Added door security is also available using Kaba’s new BEDiX portable control unit and C-BEDiX wall mounted unit, which can provide access by password.

Kaba Door Systems has over 80 years international experience in the design, manufacture and installation of a leading range of commercial and industrial door systems. With regional centres across the UK, Kaba also offers a nationwide repair and maintenance service. The company is a member of the Automatic Door Suppliers Association (ADSA) and is NHS Purchasing and Supply Agency (PASA) approved ref: CM/FMM/04/2419/05.
