What was the brief from the client and how much were they involved?:
The client is into the business of furniture industry, and make furniture of various designs.

How did the brief affect the materials and design choices?:
Inspired by the organic planes of the art of Origami, an external screen of expanded metal mesh was unanimously decided as the best solution. Further, to make the design site sensitive an additional layer of FRP panels was added, which also helped in reducing south heat gain. The FRP panels were created in the industrial workshop of the Furniture factory itself for the designers wanted the exterior to be synchronized with the core of the factory. A mould was custom made for the panels based on the inputs given by the client and design specified by the architects.

Previous experiences give us new boost for designing this kind of the project.

Photo credits : Mr Purnesh Dev Nikhanj Project description: The unusual brief for the project required two buildings, a furniture factory and display center and an adjacent building, both owned by the client, to be visually connected so as to provide a united front to the viewer. The project, located on an industrial site in Panchkula, India, challenged the monotonous surroundings by breaking stereotypical design solutions. The client wanted the result to be both chic and contemporary. However, the by-laws did not allow any drastic measures to be employed. Therefore, the entire project uses metal fabrications to make a façade that gives the two buildings one face.

What problems or challenges did you face?:
The main problem is to connect both the buildings with one facia. as the local authorities are not allowing it to connect both the buildings. so the best option was designed and recommended

What do you feel were the most unusual design elements of the project?:
The most usual design element is the FRP pannels , which was made in factory itself.The FRP panels were created in the industrial workshop of the Furniture factory itself for the designers wanted the exterior to be synchronized with the core of the factory. A mould was custom made for the panels based on the inputs given by the client and design specified by the architects.

How do you think this project is pushing design forward? What makes it special?:
The bright yellow FRP panels mounted on grey steel mesh provide an added element to the unconventional design
