Five new buildings by architects Allies and Morrison have joined the original BBC White City to create the new 17-acre BBC Media Village, providing office space for approximately 6,000 people. Set to regenerate the wider urban area, the development provides state-of-the-art broadcast facilities and offices as well as shops, cafes and a post office – open to local residents and BBC staff – centred on a public boulevard.

Integral to the office accommodation is Bisley LateralFile™, providing a coherent and cohesive structure to the office environment. Specified in discussion with DEGW and user groups, one carcase size provides enough drawer, door and flipper combinations to store a wide variety of media. The same carcase is also used with sloping shelves to display publications, as MySpace™ lockers for personal storage and as `post points` with pigeonholes and in/out boxes. Low cabinets with thick seat pads have the dual purpose of storage and seating for impromptu meetings.
