The Haj House Complex features towers for administration and accommodation, and domes for common public use. The building is open to public and has been designed as an educational harbour welcoming all users involved in the process of training and education related to Haj. The architects have tried to incorporate the scale of the Haj House Complex with the fabric of Lucknow, to avoid having a foreign object interjected within the old city.

The Haj House Complex has incorporated Islam characteristics throughout the space. The architects incorporated components such as the shadows to shelter people approaching the complex and envisioned the iwans in Persian architecture. The building is drawn and imagined composed of colours from the palette endowed with the features of Islamic culture.

The effect of the light filtering through the holes in the domes of the mosques and bazaars was visualised and realised for the building covering the main lobby plaza. The facade containing the iwans marks a contrast between the deep and heavy shadows of the iwans outside and the bright daylight that penetrates down and through the domes.
