The new super-lounge will be located within the Tom Bradley International Terminal which is currently undergoing a $1.7 billion make-over and will replace the former lounge in Terminal 2 of the airport. The design of the Star Alliance lounge is being led by in-house design team of Air New Zealand in conjunction with international architecture firm Gensler.

The new Star Alliance lounge will span 180,000 square feet, which will be complete with dining, shopping, retail and passenger amenities. It will be three times the size of the facility, which it is replacing. It will feature different kinds of spaces, which will meet the requirements of different kinds of passengers.

The facility will also accommodate a bar area for socialising and a library space to offer respite to people who are looking for some quiet time. The super lounge will also have an outdoor terrace, which will offer panoramic views of the northern runway towards the Hollywood hills.

The new lounge will be used by eight Star Alliance partner airlines that also operate out of the Tom Bradley terminal including Lufthansa, Singapore Airlines and Swiss Air.
