ALBED’s earlier collaboration with Brian Sironi in 2012 resulted in the POLI modular and sectional system for the company. For the 2013 edition, ALBED launched the brand new FILUM hinged door with a glass and aluminium construction.
This new model was designed following a unique sign, which pursues the formal continuity between the jamb and profile of the door. The glass portion is coplanar to the wall, while the aluminium part protrudes. The jamb is detached from the wall with a minimum thickness, but then joins with the door itself, creating a unique object. FILUM door can be easily adapted to the environment thanks to its linearity and minimalism, a continuity that creates harmony between the parts and generates formal synthesis.
Brian Sironi, together with the company’s Research and Development Centre, also designed the handle and the relative support by revolutionising the concept and traditional dimensions. The proposed solution is much thinner compared to the standard found on the market. FILUM is available with glass panels in different finishes and with natural aluminium frame, oxidised bronze, painted white or anodised black.
ALBED also patented a new and innovative concept of a wall flush door, INTEGRA, which was designed by the Research and Development Centre. Showcased at iSaloni, INTEGRA is a hinged door with concealed hinges adjustable on three axes that comes from the wall.
INTEGRA allows the user to create a linear effect that makes the door almost invisible on the wall. The particularity that makes this model unique is the fact of being able to cover both sides so that the door “camouflages” better with the surface.
The structure is made of aluminium but other materials and finishes can be used depending on the architectural requirements. The versatility of the INTEGRA door can be obtained with the plasterboard version, which allows for endless customisation possibilities. It can also be provided directly on site, assembled and finished according to the design specifications.
It is designed so that any type of handle can be mounted. It has an automatic door closer with hinges, lower draught excluder for better soundproofing and electrified locks. The structure also contains various sound-absorbing materials.
The LEVEL hinged door by ALBED in collaboration with Paolo Cappello has a very basic and special feature that makes it unique as when it is closed the panel is completely covered by the frame. There is a trick, but it cannot be seen. The trick is seen when the door is opened. The panel is made of two different heights; the highest outer part covers the jamb. The effect created is a door with a thickness that is very thin so that it looks like a surface placed on the wall.
LEVEL is a minimalist model that is easily inserted into a variety of contexts. The company proposes the lacquered MDF panel in a broad range of RAL or glass and an aluminium frame.
In 2013, ALBED proposed new versions of the LINE model. The versatility that characterises the system, which is designed to be custom tailored, makes each piece unique and distinctive. The aluminium frame can be articulated in both size and in the numerous RAL lacquer finishes according to the style and design requirements. It is possible to have a small bookshelf or an entirely equipped wall. Moreover, there are various accessories that can be added to the structure such as folding or hinged containers and drawers of different depths that complement the range.
A novelty for the LINE collection in 2013 is the shelf with integrated sound system to harmoniously diffuse music in all the rooms. ALBED collaborated with Daniele lo Scalzo Moscheri for this piece.
The SOLO modular system, designed by the company’s Research and Development Centre, is proposed in a free standing or floor/ceiling version, and is offered as a bookshelf in the living area as well as a walk-in closet in the night area. SOLO provides a unique profile model on which both versions can be created. This technical characteristic allows the user to simplify the design and mounting of the numerous configurations that can be obtained.
The system is available in the two-face version and so it can be positioned in the centre of a room to optimise the available space and also be used as a practical room divider.
VISTA is a modular program designed by Massimo Luca to split and equip the various rooms of the house, the living area (kitchen, study, living room, living room) the sleeping area, and even workspaces. The collection proposes a wide selection of wall or sliding shelves and sliding doors used to divide, separate, archive, sort and contain. During the 2013 edition of the Salone del Mobile, the company proposes a new version of the walk-in closet.
The peculiarity is found in the shelves that, instead of being interrupted, are continuous and create a more linear visual effect. ALBED also proposes new equipment that complements the range of accessories with which it is possible to customise the model.
The frame is made of aluminium with a natural, steel and anodised black finish. The innovation introduced is the elegant and sophisticated bronze finish that combines perfectly with the walnut version of the structure.
The various shelves, modular units depending on various needs, can be mounted on sliding frames positioned on two rails, one on the floor and the other on the ceiling. It is possible to create compositions by overlaying the structure fixed to the wall with several series of mobile shelving. This creates interplay of shapes and lines that intersect in an orderly manner and that optimise the space.
VISTA offers solutions for different needs and multiplies spaces by using and optimising the available spaces.
