The refurbishment will restore the facility’s antique features while installing some contemporary amenities. Tan and subdued lime green will serve as predominant shades in the revamped guest rooms. The remodelled rooms will also feature floors made of dark wood along with high-definition LCD TVs measuring 32 inches, phones, and data ports. The guest rooms will also offer high-speed wireless internet access following the makeover.
The Amherst Boardroom executive conference room will be fitted with advanced facilities whereas the fitness room spanning 350 square feet will incorporate latest equipment like treadmills, cardio machines and free weights. The 900 square feet Webster Ballroom will receive an overhaul while the 2360 square feet Dickinson Ballroom will undergo an expansion as part of the project.
Other features of the inn include pre-function area covering 850 square feet, a 3200 square feet tent pad, an outdoor patio with fire pit, and the 125-seat Boltwood restaurant. The mantles above fireplaces, chair rails and wainscoting have been retained in their original form. The two double beds and a sun porch in the deluxe room have been restored.
The building will use various green features such as an energized system which will electrically charge the rooms only after the keys are inserted into the room doors. It will also be equipped with a geothermal heating and cooling system which will reap 30% more energy savings over a traditional system. Presence of low-flow water fixtures, a green roof and an efficient sound-proof insulation will add to its sustainability.
