The collection consists of new seating and other interior products crafted out of Sakhalin knotweed, a naturally existing weed, which has a short regrowth period, making it very sustainable.
Designed by Christian Reder, the idea for the collection came when he planted some Sakhalin knotweed in his yard. The fast-growing weed had to be cut regularly in order to keep it from taking over the whole yard. Reder felt strongly about burning the tubular shoots, which happened to be light but incredibly strong.
He experimented on the product to develop a unique material by embedding the shoots into a mixture of cold glue and wood flour, and named it Flohr. The cross sectioned material reveals an interesting perforated texture and pattern, giving the pieces a unique look.
