The new store is a double-story structure featuring a large lantern style sky-light over the main space. The designers have utilized the volume and height of this space for the creation of dramatic set pieces. Lighting of architectural details has been left untouched. The store is finished in white to reflect the ambient light, providing a visual contrast.
The starting point for the lighting design concept was a theatrical setting, illuminating only the merchandise. Visual accent in the store is achieved by the striking red containers within the space to the central area and the junction between general store area and changing rooms. The interior illuminated in red LED lights saturate the red finish.
Light Bureau worked with the store designers Box of Frogs and the primary lighting supplier iGuzzini, to deliver the lighting design concept. The new Sidecar range was selected for the simple gallery-like form and range of lamp sources. Long-life, low energy CDM-TC sources were chosen by Light Bureau for impact. Certain feature sources and window displays utilize LED sources for low-energy and maintenance-efficient accent lighting, when the store is closed.
