Plyboo Pure Strand has been specified by the project architect because of its strength, manufacturing quality, and appearance. Over 17,550 square feet of Havana and Sahara Strand Bamboo flooring will be installed in the Press Box and VIP suites of the stadium.
Plyboo Strand Bamboo flooring has a 3,500 pound per square inch hardness rating, which makes it durable as well as visually beautiful. The flooring uses NAUF (no added urea formaldehyde) adhesives and 100% FSC-certified bamboo, which will help the renovation project to meet LEED certification qualifications.
The $152 million renovation project at Rose Bowl Stadium will involve new press box, less cluttered stadium rim, new video board, wider tunnels, aisles, elliptical field, restoration of historic field hedge, added concessions, and added restrooms.
Work is currently underway on the new seven-level pavilion, which will include 54 suites, 48 loge boxes and 1,180 club seats. For the first UCLA home game this fall, 26 suites and 262 club seats will be completed. In addition to finishing the pavilion, Phase three will include additional concession stands, gate entry structures and restroom facilities.
The entire project is expected to be complete by January 1, 2014 and is being built by US-based Clark Construction. The project is primarily funded with bonds ($126.1 million) backed by future revenues generated from the Rose Bowl.
