Morgan Furniture provided a wide range of soft seating for the Saga Sapphire cruise ship. Nine inspired collections from Morgan, including some specially-adapted designs, have been featured on the Saga fleet, providing comfort and ocean-going style for up to 706 passengers.
Designed to appeal to the modern tastes, the Saga Sapphire ship offers a pool-side Beach Club, St Andrews crazy golf and Cooper’s bar, named in honour of Tommy Cooper. The bar features red Fez-like lampshades and scatter cushions. All bar areas, including Cooper’s, Britannia Lounge and the Aviator’s Bar are decked out in furniture by Morgan. The Siena curved tub chair, featuring simple turned wooden legs and the Seville wing armchair, are chosen to glamorise the space. It also features Hampton sofas and armchairs to set the mood for relaxation.
The comfortable and elegant Atlantic dining chairs from Morgan are placed in the dining space to provide an enriched dining experience to guests. Atlantic chairs chosen for Saga Sapphire features fully upholstered arms edged with polished wood to match the legs. With creamy upholstery, the chairs create a luxurious atmosphere in the ‘Pole to Pole’ restaurant, which is styled according to different themes of different countries across the world.
The Grill and Verandah features the cruise line and hotel-inspired Boston collection of furniture. A dining venue where passengers can grab a lighter meal and watch their food being prepared in a state-of-the-art show kitchen, this area demanded a more informal seating style and a seamless transition from inside to outside for those choosing to dine alfresco. Boston and Boston Terrace features finely crafted wooden frame available in a choice of timbers, including Iroko sustainable African hardwood for outdoor models. The design features an attractive finger joint on the arm, which also adds strength, and a woven leather back for the indoor chairs.
The Drawing Room of the ship features a wide variety of seating arrangements like square, low form, Verona chairs, sofas, daybeds and corner units from Morgan to add contemporary style to the place. Seville winged-chairs and Siena tub chairs feature throughout the space, upholstered in tactile and vibrant blue and orange fabrics.
This is the third Saga cruise ship project for Morgan, having already supplied furniture for the Saga Ruby and the Saga Pearl II.
