Since its inaugural event eight years ago the show, which features keynote speeches, discussions and debates, has kept pace with the rapidly changing nature of the modern workplace, and this year organiser Unwired is promising to bring together some of the ‘biggest and brightest names to debate, discuss and divulge the latest thinking on cultural architecture, workplace wellbeing and the rise of co-work and BYOD (Bring Your Own Device)’.
With Worktech events also taking place in New York, Melbourne and Singapore, Worktech 12 comes to the British Library in London on 14 and 15 November and will include speeches by the likes of Chris Waugh, director and founder of IDEO F&B, who will be considering ‘cultural architecture’. Hosting the discussions at the London event will be Jeremy Myerson, a leading academic and author in the field of workplace design.
Unwired expects some 300 senior professionals working in real estate, facilities, technology and executive management, architecture and design, to attend this year’s event, so there’s plenty of opportunity for networking too.
Events to look out for over the two-day conference include the presentation of the findings and implications of a joint study between furniture company Haworth and the Helen Hamlyn Centre for Design at London’s Royal College of Art. By shadowing stage and workplace designers and comparing their creative processes, the research points to new ways to psychologically enrich office interiors using a simple, modular language of scenography. Offering a little light relief will be performance poet and humourist Matt Harvey, who went down a storm at last year’s Worktech event.
This year Unwired is offering FX readers 30 per cent discount on tickets to attend the show as delegates. Visit the website for more information and to book tickets, quoting FX to get the discount.
