The ‘Goodmans Eye for the Good Guy’ contest began in February 2009 with a call for nominations to find the most dedicated and effective leader of a nonprofit organization in Maricopa County, Arizona. Finally, 10 were shortlisted from a distinguished roster of nonprofit leaders in the area.
Sullivan was chosen as the winner through a combination of online public voting and assessment by a panel of local judges. More than 20,000 votes were cast by the public during the month long voting period from April to May 2009. The prize is a complete office makeover from Goodmans.
Sullivan’s newly renovated office creates more productive workspace with all new office furniture, including a desk, ergonomic seating, conference table with in-table power/data, and storage space. A new ceiling provides better acoustics and more privacy, while new A/C registers and vents improve air quality and circulation. An inspirational ‘word wall’ includes artfully printed phrases to reinforce AWEE’s mission and values and remind guests why AWEE works.
Sullivan’s new office is remodeled by Adolfson & Peterson Construction and commercial carpet provider Shaw Contract Group. AWEE has been successfully investing in women, men and young adults as a nonprofit workforce development organization for the last 27 years. AWEE’s mission is ‘changing lives through the dignity of work.’
Goodmans is the largest office furniture dealer in the Southwest and one of the top three largest Herman Miller dealers in the world.
