The Best of British Creativity Showcase is scheduled to be held at Lancaster House, in Central London and will run for the entire six weeks period of London 2012. The exhibition will take place at the 18 rooms at Lancaster House, which will be specially curated for exhibition. The purpose of the exhibition will be to introduce some of the most globally influential business leaders to UK or UK-based designers and manufacturers during the Olympic and Paralympic Games.

UK Trade & Investment noticed the designer at the Clerkenwell Design Week in May, where Bark Furniture launched its new Kustom Collection. The company’s Kustom coffee table will be placed in the State Dining Room, one of 18-special rooms.

The Kustom coffee table is completely handcrafted and is made in black walnut with a toughened glass top. The coffer table works well both as a standalone piece as well as with other members of Kustom collection consisting of an armchair and two-seater sofa.

Kustom collection is marked by its dramatic lines, which routes its inspiration to Americana and the classic automobiles of the 50s. The range has been created using sustainably produced and sourced wood from Britain.

Bark Furniture was launched in 2010 and is a collaboration between husband and wife team, Jonathan Walter and Lakshmi Bhaskaran. They work from their workshop in Cornwall creating furniture that harks back to a bold period in furniture design and is inspired by the mid-century modern era. Their current

range also consists of the Beacon and Acorn Collection and a selection of accessories and soft furnishings. The design duo will be exhibiting at 100% Design during London Design Week between 19 and 22 September 2012.

The British Business Embassy at Lancaster House is the centrepiece of UK Trade & Investment’s international business legacy programme during the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games. It will play host to 18 global business summits across six weeks.
