Located one block from Manhattan’s Central Park, the West 85th Street building is part of a group of properties in New York City known as ‘pre-war’ structures – buildings built prior to World War II that are marked by thick walls and high ceilings.
Implementing the latest restoration technology, Basonas has helped preserve the beautiful brownstone facade that has defined the building since its inception. According to Michael Brion, vice president of Basonas Construction, “Our attention to detail on the 85th Street property has helped restore the building’s architectural style of the past.” The firm focused primarily on the building’s brownstone exterior, which involved the restoration of its original appearance and condition.
In addition to the recent West 85th Street effort, Basonas is also working on several other projects, including restoration work on three historic Park Avenue building.
Basonas specializes in working on facade envelopes and building exteriors utilizing the latest technology. The company is a member of the Building Trades Association and works primarily with co-ops, condos and rental buildings in the greater New York City area.
