The 60,000-seat BC Place Stadium will get a retractable roof, which will replace the current air-supported dome. Planned to be the largest cable-supported, fully retractable fabric roof in the world at more than 10 acres, the design of the roof will allow the roof to retract, and be hidden inside a suspended, four-sided electronic video board without compromising sightlines.
Undertaken by BC Pavilion Corporation (PavCo), a Provincial Crown Corporation of the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and the Arts, the renovation of BC Place, set for completion in 2011, will bring new and exciting business opportunities and expanded revenue.
BC Place is also the home to the province’s largest trade and consumer shows including the Vancouver International Boat Show, BC Home and Garden Show and Pacific International Auto Show.
