John J. Matheussen, CEO of DRPA, has announced the details of the colors and schedule of lighting.
For most of April, the bridge will have green lighting for ‘national donate life’ month, sponsored by the Gift of Life donor program. On April 22, the bridge will sport green lights in observance of Earth day.
On April 7, the bridge will have orange lighting as the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) kicks off ‘animal cruelty prevention’ month. On April 12 the bridge will have purple lighting to observe Easter Sunday.
The bridge will have orange and white lighting when the Flyers play home games during the Stanley Cup playoffs, which begin in mid-April.
DRPA is a regional transportation agency; it owns and operates the Benjamin Franklin, Walt Whitman, Commodore Barry and Betsy Ross Bridges, Port Authority Transit Corporation (PATCO), Philadelphia Cruise Terminal and RiverLink Ferry.
