Developed by the British designer duo PearsonLloyd, and produced exclusively by the Danish manufacturer Kvadrat, Greenwich fabric collection brings not only colour, but also patterns into the office.
The large-format sample of the Jacquard pattern was inspired by the network of walking paths in Greenwich Park in London. It will be employed in two furniture lines that were also designed by PearsonLloyd: DOCKLANDS and PARCS.
The Greenwich collection consists of four colours: grey, cyan, green and yellow with three shades in each. These 12 colour combinations were selected for their suitability in office environments as they are energising, and at the same time, not over-stimulating. The carefully selected colour palette was inspired by typical street images of soft grey tones that resemble streets and façades dominating the collection, broken up by colourful accents. A bright cyan evokes images of the sky mirrored in glass façades; a saturated grass green of the peaceful zones within the city; a warm yellow-orange of streets flooded with sunlight.
The effect created by the jacquard weave is designed to bring more dynamism to the fabric. The colour of the base tone shimmers slightly through the interwoven lines, depending on where the light comes from.
The Greenwich fabric is designed to be wear-resistant and flame-resistant. It is made of 90% new wool and is comfortable to the touch. The fabric is rated at 80,000 Martindale rubs, and is of low flammability according to the British standard (BS crib 5).
