The products were judged on the parameters of innovation, ergonomics, functionality and ecological compatibility. The products that won the prize consisted of BLANCOMODEX; BLANCOANDANO; BLANCOYOVIS S; BLANCOVONDO and BLANCOCULINA-S.
BLANCOMODEX is an overmount sink that has been created in Blanco’s own coloured Silgrani II Puradur II material. BLANCOANDANO is a stainless steel sink with tight corner radii while BLANCOVONDO is a tall and elegant tap with clean, simple lines in chrome.
BLANCOYOVIS S is a new tap with pull out handset. The tap is available in chrome as well as in nine hues, and combines functionality with high quality design.
BLANCOCULINA-S is a tall and elegant faucet, which is noted for its design details. The faucet has a magnetic hose cradle, which instantly releases the spray hose and quickly secures it back when it is no longer used. The faucet offers two water flow options, which consist of a regular flow and a spray. The water flow can be changed easily by the touch of a button.
The Red Dot is an international benchmark for excellent design. This year, the international jury of 30 independent specialists chose the winners from a total of 4515 submissions. The awards ceremony took place on 2 July 2012. All award-winning products will go on display in a special exhibition in the red dot design museum on the Zollverein colliery World Heritage Site in Essen. The red dot design museum houses some 1500 products and is the largest permanent exhibition of contemporary design anywhere in the world.
