Designed by Washington-based Callison Architecture and retail design specialist Callison RYA Studio, the new location is the only Bloomingdale’s outside the US.

Bloomingdale’s Dubai is a full-line, upscale department store showcasing the latest merchandise across every category throughout both, the main and Home stores.

The core design of two Bloomingdale’s stores – a three-level, 146,000 square feet apparel and accessories store, and a one-level, 54,000 square feet Home at Dubai Mall- has derived inspiration from the flagship Bloomingdale’s store in Manhattan and San Francisco.

Callison and RYA have conceived the new store with direction from Jack Hruska, Bloomingdale’s US executive vice president of creative services. The contemporary Dubai outlets are adorned with decorative elements throughout.

The stores sport the signature black-and-white checkerboard floors in crystallized marble, hand-blown glass chandeliers in lingerie and swimwear session, a fountain at the heart of the Home store and the twisting walls of glowing white acrylic at the women’s footwear department. Arabic influences used throughout the store complement the geography. The store design is distinct for its clean and simple detailing, and the use of finishes and furnitures that offer a warm and residential feel.
