Blueprint

If Scotland votes for independence in September, we will be ready to offer up a raft of new national flags that you have designed (hopefully!)

We’ll be printing up the best of your designs and displaying them at designjunction during London Design Week. And what’s more, you can vote for the winner, at the very same time that the Scots go to the polls to decide their future.

To get the ball rolling we asked Gerry Buxton of Plane Clothing (www.planeclothing.co.uk), who grew up and went to uni in Scotland, to design a rallying flag. This is what he came up with – Alex ‘Guevara’ Salmond…

So now it’s your turn. The entry deadline for submitting a flag design is 31 July. You can be as serious or as glib as you like.

The brief is very simple, a new flag for an independent Scotland. The flag should be in the ratio 5:3. As we are planning to print up the finalist at around 1.5m, the best format to submit your artwork in would be as a vector EPS. If you want to send a jpeg, please send a low-res version of less than 6mb for us to consider, bearing in mind the final version will be printed at the above size should it be selected.

Please submit you entries, by 31 July, to info@blueprintmagazine.co.uk and put New Scottish Flag in the subject box. Please include a number that we can reach you on. Thanks in advance!
