The new scoreboard will feature a 36-by-18 feet LED screen. The screen will have an enhanced resolution compared to the existing scoreboard and will incorporate improved video and sound quality. It is expected to be installed by the end of July 2011. The firm has also designed scoreboards that will be placed on either sides of the facility. The current stadium scoreboard will be shifted to Bozeman High School.
The installation is part of a $10 million expansion plan that will be carried out on the facility. Other plans undertaken for the expansion involve addition of 5,200 seats in the south end zone including an extra 1,100 student seats which will increase its accommodation capacity to over 17,000. The project will include installation of field lighting for conducting events at night.
The south end zone will be enclosed with grandstand seating resembling a bowl-like shape after the expansion. The project will also involve creation of new concessions and a visitors locker room below the grandstand. The student area will be relocated from its existing east sideline position to the new end zone grandstand. There will be a new student-only entrance and concession stands that are CatCard compliant. The project will also seat capacity will be raised in the Bobcat Club which is an indoor seating area with ticket sales for student-athlete scholarships.
