The new health park will be developed at 3035 Capital Ave. SW in Battle Creek. Sprawling over 21 acres, the new care facility will be 65,000 square feet building, spread over two-levels. Standing on the backdrop of wooded area, the building has been designed in a way to reap maximum benefit of natural light.

The facilities to be offered by the new health park will consist of women’s health and cardiology, physical and occupational therapy and a sleep clinic. The new health park will also accommodate medical imaging department, and a pharmacy. The Borgess Health Park will have a provision to add bariatric, vascular and general surgery service departments in future.

The building will be developed in strict compliance with environmental criteria and is being aspired for LEED certification. The green elements of the development will consist of employment of local materials for the building’s facade, a rainwater retention pond and other elements to improve water and energy efficiency of the building. The design has attempted to retain as much of trees as possible. The city is also examining the possibility of creating hiking trails that would link up with the current network of trails.

The new development will be completed by mid-2014.
